ARCH 1142 MODEL IT_Houses Amalgamation

The extended arm of my first house that is made of balsa wood expresses feeling of embracing the second house.

The second house is made of box board which is darker in color gives sense of strength and heaviness in order to hold the first house up through counterweight.

Submission of Experiment 3_Bridge

The bridge which consists of both Lady Gaga's and Jonathan Ive's working space fits into the huge valley by having one end inserted into the valley wall and another placed on the valley.

Lady Gaga's space with a big ring above, gives an eye-catching effect just like her influence to the community. The wavy floor slab correlates with the wave-like bridge. Besides, it also echoes that her influence is as powerful as wave.

A spider-web like staircase is fitted into Gaga's working place which also resembles the idea of power as spider-web is strong in way of capturing prey.

High interaction between spaces in Lady Gaga's office, catering to the fact that one would want to proceed up through the spaces from bottom level (level with spider staircase), reinforcing the high interaction with her fans.

Jonathan's working place as viewed from the rear is presented in a intruding way. This shows his low profiled characteristic as the man behind the iconic brand.

As compared to Gaga's office, there is less interaction between spaces as both the level of spaces are stable and hold one's intention to stay.
Jonathan's idea of being magical is also presented here by making no staircase between the two floors and imposing curiosity on how one could walk through the spaces.

The round tables and chairs with circular line pattern form ripple-like pattern. This denotes his power propagates in a quiet way (low profile).

Meeting room with Jonathan's seat at the middle shows his importance towards the iconic brand- Apple.

Submission of Experiment 3_ Elevators_Change of Perspective

Jonathan Ive

The rising rings which protect Jonathan from the beholders' views symbolize his low-profiled characteristic.

crysis_key: o - open the hole
k - elevator

Using the i-Phone's home button symbol supports the general thinking that Apple gives fame to Jonathan. However, when the rings fall, the square-like 'steering' is revealed and thus reveal the truth that Jonathan is the main one who drives the path of the brand instead.

Lady Gaga

The arrow-shapes platform is inspired by swallows which always fly in groups in an arrow shape. This may strongly signifies Lady Gaga's leadership and influence in music as well as fashion field.

As compared to Jonathan's elevator, hers is relatively more exposed which resemble her characteristic of high profile.

Lady Gaga's side

The amalgamation of piano with dining table reinforces the idea of creativeness and innovation, which are the key influences of Lady Gaga.

Jonathan Ive's side

The grand piano cover as viewed from behind is still eye-catching, echoing the indelible marks made by Lady Gaga on existing products, especially fashion and music.

In comparison with Jonathan Ive's side of the dining table which is relatively plain when it is not in use, Lady Gaga's table resembles her high profile characteristic.

The opening cover of Jonathan Ive's side of table fulfills the curiosity of beholders on how the dining table for him works.

Jonathan's key of influence is by making things magical which defined by him as inducing curiosity in people on how things work. (mentioned in mashup article)

The open-when-in-use cover symbolizes low profile characteristic of Jonathan.

When it is fully opened up, the colour of the table is shining equally through both sides of it.

Lady Gaga's Elevator

The design of elevator originates from a rectangular box which again resembles Lady Gaga's idea of power-change.

As one goes up the elevator through the triangular plates that surround the center beam in a spiral way, surrounding views could be enjoyed from every angle.
This also reinforces the truth that Lady Gaga's influence spreads in every angle to the world by making indelible change to existing products.

Bridge draft

The shape of the bridge is generated as inspired by the shape of the alphabet "z", whereby z symbolizes zealous.
Zealous = Passionate

Gaga's office (indelible change)
By adding the plane-wing like roof to the existing z-shaped space, the space looks by far more edgy.

Passage on the bridge which allows clients to cross the bridge.

Jonathan Ive' office (Magical)
Random fenestrations on the wall impose ambiguity in beholders towards the how the interior space works as viewed from exterior.
