Montage It! Poster

In this poster, I propose to show the technical aspects of the process of making a photomontage.
These technical aspects of the process of making a photomontage that I intend to express here are namely the fitting of the image of my conceptual model into another image, and the adding of  hand sketches and textures on the combined image.
All these aspects are shown in this poster to have given certain context to the initial conceptual model and  provided visualization on the built form of the model.

Final Photomontages

The final step of montaging is adding contexts. I have done this by defining the materials of the building, adding human figure. Also, I made hand sketches on extended structures of the building to make it looks more complete.
These two photomontages are distinctive in terms of scale and atmosphere, and  different parts of the building are shown.

Flipbook

This flipbook leads one through the spaces in terms of first person point of view.
Every single scene is drawn using pencil on rough textured paper to create atmospheric feel.

Revised Model

This is the revised model which still presents the concept of threshold and view framing with reference to Carlo Scarpa's work.

Photomontage

In this photomontage, I fitted the image of my model into a sea view image in order to create a view-framing effect with certain part of the model as seen from the first person point of view overlooking the sea.

The effects that I wanted to show here are namely the reflection as well as the small scale of the model when viewed at distance. This can thus enhance the sense of depth in the photomontage.

By integrating the image of the model and the image of a real built environment I would like to strengthen the threshold effect and the sense of materiality.

This photomontage is meant to show how the model can be integrated with the landscape.

The first and the last montages are then developed later according the tutors' advice.
